Arkin Gets Smart

Fresh from his Oscar celebration this past Sunday evening, Best Supporting Actor winner Alan Arkin is working once again with his “Little Miss Sunshine” co-star Steve Carell in the feature film version of “Get Smart“. Arkin will play the head of CONTROL, the secret spy agency that fights against the evil forces of KAOS. Carell is playing Agent Maxwell Smart, the role made famous by Don Adams in the 1960s television series.
Rounding out the cast are Anne Hathaway as Agent 99 (played by Barbara Feldman in the TV show), Terence Stamp (”Elektra”) and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Agent 23. Peter Segal (”Anger Management”) is directing and the movie is scheduled for release in June 2008.
