Saturday, January 5th, 2008

gemmaarterton.jpgThe newest Bond girl has finally been cast and it is 21-year-old Gemma Arterton. The lady is a newcomer to the world of film but has a new film out called “St Trinian’s” where she stars opposite fellow “Casino Royale” Bond woman Caterina Murino and Colin Firth. Arterton was rumored to have been cast in the untitled new Bond movie for weeks but the news was finally confirmed by EON Productions and Arterton’s agent yesterday. According to a representative for Danjaq Productions the brunette actress has a “a nice-sized role” in the movie.

Filming started on the 22nd James Bond movie this week. Daniel Craig is returning for his second time playing the suave superspy. French actor Mathieu Amalric will play Bond’s nemesis in the movie. In it 007 will chase after the terrorist organization that he flushed out at the end of “Casino Royale”.

James Bond’s Next Fling?

maryin_villanueva .jpgHas Mexican soap star Maryin Villanueva been cast as the next Bond girl in the untitled 22nd James Bond movie? According to an unconfirmed report that aired on a Mexican news channel the husband of Maryin told a reporter that his wife had been asked by the 007 producers to be a part of the new movie. The 32-year-old certainly has the curvy looks to become the next Bond woman and play opposite Daniel Craig’s superspy.

The new James Bond movie continues moments after the finish of “Casino Royale” making it the first 007 movie to do so. Actors Giancarlo Giannini and Jesper Christensen will both reprise their roles as two villains and Bond will continue to pursue the organization that funds worldwide terrorists and that murdered his lover Vesper Lynd. While there doesn’t appear to be any room for seeing characters like Bond’s gadget-maker Q or Miss Moneypenny Judi Dench will return as Bond’s boss, Q. The Aston Martin company has also secured a $100 million dollar deal that will have James behind the wheel of the company’s new DBS V12 luxury automobile. The new Bond movie is set to come out in November 2008.

From Harry Potter to 007?

Monday, September 17th, 2007

danielradcliffe.jpgThe world best knows Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard Harry Potter but will it soon know him as Bond…James Bond? That is the rumor that a website has heard and according to their source Radcliffe’s people are considering it.

According to the Joblo website Radcliffe has been approached about playing a junior age secret agent in what would be an adaptation of Charlie Higson’s young James Bond books. Higson’s novels take place in the 1930s so that the older Bond is the same era as in Ian Fleming’s novels which took place in the Cold War. If the rumor is true it is more than likely that the setting would be moved to the modern day. Another factor to consider is the age of Radcliffe. In the young Bond books the character is in his early teenage years while Radcliffe is 18-years-old now. The actor probably won’t be available until after he finishes the seventh and final “Harry Potter” movie in two years. Daniel certainly won’t be free this fall as he is preparing to star in the Broadway version of his hit stage play “Equus”.

007 Returns to England

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

danielcraig_jamesbondBond is coming back home. The makers of the long-running James Bond movie franchise will shoot their next 007 adventure at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, the site where many earlier Bond films were shot. For the franchise’s last effort, “Casino Royale”, studio filming took place in Prague’s Barrandov Studios. The owners of 007, Eon Productions, gave notice to Barrandov explaining why they would not be coming back and of course it had to do with monetary issues. It turns out that the Czech government’s cash incentives to attract international film productions to film in the country have become less attractive due to competing offers from other neighboring countries.

Filming on the 22nd James Bond movie (which still does not have a title) will begin this December for a November 2008 release. Daniel Craig will reprise the role of the secret agent for the second time. If recent comments made by the actor are to be taken at face value, the producers want to inject more humor into the picture. Craig cites the Roger Moore films as examples of what kind of slapstick fans should expect to see.

Bond Director Chosen

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

casinoroyaleThe man behind Halle Berry’s topless scene in “Monster’s Ball” will direct the next James Bond picture. Director Marc Forster has been selected to shoot the 22nd 007 movie which is scheduled for release on November 7, 2008. Daniel Craig will play the British secret agent for the second time in the movie which still doesn’t have a title. The screenplay was written by “Crash” director and “Million Dollar Baby” screenwriter Paul Haggis.

One rumor that has surfaced about the new Bond movie is that “Black Book” actress Carice Van Houten may be cast as the new Bond lady. If that rumor does indeed come to pass then the blonde starlet will only be able to play in the new 007 film after she finishes making “Valkyrie” this year. Van Houten has just been cast to play the love interest of Tom Cruise’s character in that film.
